The skin has a surface area of approximately 2 sq m. and is the largest organ. It comes in direct contact with the environment and bears the brunt of environmental pollution and UV radiation. Skin is also the largest organ of elimination.

Arugampul or Cynodon Dactylon also known as Bermuda grass is well known for its action on skin. Collect a handful of this grass and grind it to paste along with a finger of turmeric. Apply the paste on your body in a thin layer and bathe after an hour. This is effective in clearing most of the skin diseases, blemishes, boils, itching etc.

Aavaarai or Cassia auriculata (Tanner's Cassia) flowers can get you a radiant and glowing skin. The decoction of the fresh flowers, or powder of the dried flowers or the fresh flowers themselves when taken regularly cures body heat, body odour, salt deposits on body.
